BMI Alumni Upgrade No.5: "What is the future of the financial industry & how to survive?"

Lecturer: Lars OHNEMUS

Director of Center for Corporate Governance,Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Denmark

International executive with wide senior management experience from European investment markets, real estate sector and fast moving consumer goods.

The session will be focused on 3 areas:
  • The financial sector is an essential part of a modern society but is its traditional position being jeopardized due to a combination of internal and external factors such as digital disruption, new regulation and totally different business model?
  • Will new technology (like Fintech) be increasing international competition dramatically, will swelling regulation be destroying the industry and what are the implications of the low interest environment?
  • What will be the impact of aging population on growth in the society and what opportunities will it give for the industry.
Finally, discussion about the right corporate governance model. Should Lithuania select and embrace a different model for Fintech and really use it as a unique opportunity to achieve growth or ban it?
