The executives in Class XIX of the BMI 4-Continent Executive MBA got many practical insights from discussions with industry experts during this week’s module on Corporate Finance and Company Valuation led by Prof. Martin Essenburg from DePaul University in the USA.
One guest speaker was Aldona Jakutienė, Chief Financial Officer at Ruptela, a provider of transport fleet management services with clients in 127 countries. A 2007 graduate of the BMI EMBA with 20 years’ experience in several countries and diverse industries, Aldona spoke about a CFO’s role in creating value for shareholders – from financial management and initiatives to improve performance to helping develop corporate strategy and manage risks.
A second guest speaker was Žygintas Mačėnas, Founder and Managing Partner at SUMMA Advisers, which Mergermarket last year named the “Best M&A Financial Adviser in the Baltics”. Also a graduate of BMI, way back in 2002, Žygintas spoke about how mergers and acquisitions work in real life, what M&A advisers do and how they are paid, and what the regional outlook is for M&As.
“High-level guest speakers from the international business community are an important part of the learning and networking opportunities that BMI offers top managers. They’re a great complement to our distinguished professors from top business schools around the world, who also all bring impressive real-life management experience,” BMI Director General Jaunius Pusvaškis noted.
