Family business - a new study trend at BMI
BMI executive students turn their focus on family firms - a novel topic for research in management. The study of BMI students in their final theses reads that family-based firms comprise only 38% of all business enterprises in Lithuania. This figure is shocking as compared to that in the US and Europe in average. Family-based firms comprise 80-90% of all business enterprises in the US and more than 60% of companies in Europe. This figure is very promising on the other hand as this is the indicator for vast potential in launch of new family businesses. It correlates very much with the growing number of business owners in BMI Executive MBA as well as certificate programmes and their ambition for gaining more cutting-edge business management.
