BMI’s Board named Jurga Bendikaitė-Ursavas as the new BMI Director General effective May 23. Jurga – the long-time head of BMI’s highly successful International Executive MBA programme – has been with BMI since its founding in 1999.
“The board of BMI is delighted to entrust Jurga Bendikaitė-Ursavas with leading BMI in a new stage of development as an innovative, modern international educator of managers and entrepreneurs,” said Rolandas Valiūnas, Co-Chairman of BMI’s Governing Board.
Prof. Jean Paul Larçon, also Co-Chairman and a founder of BMI, added: “Jurga’s deep commitment to BMI and her role in its leadership have been central to the success of the BMI EMBA, including quality relations with academic partner institutions worldwide, the pool of outstanding lecturer-practitioners, and strong engagement with our remarkable alumni. We are pleased that she will now be applying that dynamism and dedication to the growth of the institute as a whole.”
She replaces Jaunius Pusvaškis, who after 12 years in the role has decided to pursue new career opportunities. “Jaunius contributed significantly to BMI’s development. We sincerely thank him for that important work and wish him great success in his new endeavours,” Rolandas Valiūnas said.
Jurga Bendikaitė-Ursavas, herself a graduate of the BMI International Executive MBA, has held management roles at BMI for more than two decades. She holds an “Award for Service to the Institution” from HEC Paris, one of the world’s top business schools and a historic founder of BMI.
“I am grateful to the board of BMI for the trust they are showing in me, and for the support of so many stakeholders among academic partners, alumni and the business community,” Jurga said. “I count on your continued support and assistance as we move forward with all the exciting plans for BMI’s future.”
Both co-chairmen of the board noted that BMI will continue growing and expanding its international footprint, bringing its new-generation model of high-level management education to business leaders in more parts of Europe and beyond, and offering alumni an ever more valuable network.
