What does it take to be a (young) leader in times of crisis? What opportunities are available to leaders now that were not existing before? What skills are essential for the leaders in current “ZOOM” times? What are the main challenges young leaders face in their teams during the current crisis? And what are some of the solutions that have already been found? These and many more questions will be answered during this online discussion panel with our panelists:

About the participants
Aad JCM van VLIET is a founding partner and Global Lead of Avvartes Partners GmbH (the Netherlands / Switzerland), a truly global group of senior Human Potential experts focusing on leadership, future-fit organizations and engaged/empowered teams. He is a seasoned senior international business coach, team mobilizer and HR executive with over 30 years of experience in global blue-chip companies in different industries, such as Unilever, Novartis and DSM. Aad also is Adjunct Professor, Impactful Leadership & Corporate Finance Programme, UCLouvain BMI IEMBA programme.
Tsvetelina PENKOVA is a Bulgarian politician who has been serving as a Member of the European Parliament since the 2019 elections. Before entering EP she has worked in various positions in business sector, such as financial and capital markets analyst, customer advisor, and research assistant prior to being elected to the EP she was business development and investor relations associate in the UK.
She has graduated from Oxford University and has a double Degree in International Business at Bocconi University & Central European University.
Franc BOGOVIC is a Slovenian politician who was first elected as a Member of the European Parliament in 2014 and is serving here for already second mandate.
Before entering the Parliament Bogovič had various political positions in Slovenia. Bogovič is one of the founders of the first democratic political party in the former Yugoslavia, the Slovenian People’s Party. He was elected Mayor of the Municipality of Krško in 1998 and held this post until December 2011. In 2008, he was elected to Slovenia’s National Assembly In 2012, he started his tenure as Minister for Agriculture and the Environment. He was elected President of the Slovene People’s Party in 2013. Mr. Bogovič holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering.
EU40 is the platform of young Pro-European Members of the European Parliament and of the 27 EU national parliaments. Our mission is to serve young Members under the age of 40 and strengthen their role inside the European Parliament. We do this by adding aesthetics, fun and fresh ideas to European politics thereby making it more palpable and accessible. We want Europe to be at its best. Therefore, we seek to connect the best. In the meantime, our Alumni has included Prime Ministers, National Ministers, European Commissioners and many others; all of them are EU40.
