On 21st January in Louvain la Neuve a new cohort began their International Executive MBA co-organized by UCLouvain and BMI Executive Institute. The executives of the Class of 2023 have gathered on the Louvain School of Management (LSM) campus and set off on the journey of personal and professional transformation.
BMI and UCLouvain welcomed the participants representing 6 nationalities and 14 industries, such as pharmaceuticals, engineering, transport, financial institutions, public sector, and other. The average age in the class is 39 years with an average of 15 years of professional experience and 10 years of management experience, while 50% of participants hold top and senior management positions and 9% are business owners.
“I welcome you to this life-changing journey and encourage you to take as much as you can from each other and, of course, from our professors who are also business professionals and are coming from top business schools from around the globe”, Jurga Bendikaitė-Ursavas, the Director-General of BMI, said in greeting the new cohort.
The group was also addressed by Prof. Per Agrell, the Dean of Faculty of LSM, who emphasized the personal changes the participants will face during the EMBA programme.
“Welcome to this International EMBA voyage, the essence of which is the personal and professional growth you achieve from the very start of the programme. I promise you that this Executive MBA that you are embarking on will change the way you view the world, the way you view yourself and the way you act and, finally, the way you choose your career path”, said Prof. Per Agrell during the opening of the class.
During the partnership with Louvain School of Management lasting over 20 years, BMI has already educated over 1,000 EMBA alumni in 30 countries worldwide. Last February the first cohort of managers and entrepreneurs started the joint International EMBA programme based in Brussels and Louvain la Neuve.
The 1-year programme effectively integrates the best attributes of both schools to provide managers and entrepreneurs from Belgium and abroad with both international managerial know-how and a widespread professional network.
Participants will benefit from a unique 100% visiting faculty from the best-ranked business schools in the world, such as HEC Paris in France, ESADE in Spain, Tulane University in the USA, and direct access to the elite Nordic-Baltic business leaders’ network.
During the programme participants will analyse all aspects of business and strongly focus on developing their soft and deep skills. The structure of the programme makes it possible to measure the improvement of each participant during the studies.
“We launch and close the programme with a course on leadership, and this allows us to clearly see the impact the EMBA experience has on each participant. It is a personal and professional transformation,” says Veronique Malleret, Professor at HEC Paris and Academic Dean of the EMBA programme at BMI.
The new cohort started the programme with Aad JCM van Vliet’s course “Leadership: Starting with Yourself”.
