Crises rarely announce themselves politely. They test leadership, decision-making, resilience, and trust – often all at once. In critical moments, the way leaders communicate can either escalate uncertainty or create clarity, confidence, and direction.
For CEOs and senior leaders, a crisis can become either a breaking point – or a powerful turning point.
At this BMI Board Network event, we focus on crisis leadership through a real-life executive case: how a critical moment was navigated inside a major Lithuanian infrastructure organization, and what leaders can learn from it.
The session will take the form of a relaxed, interactive fireside chat. Christelle Bitouzet will briefly frame the topic of crisis leadership and communication, after which the discussion will center on Renaldas Radvila’s first-hand experience leading ESO through a critical situation. Drawing on her extensive international experience, Christelle will act as moderator and facilitator, guiding the conversation and audience dialogue. The insights will emerge naturally through conversation, reflection, and audience interaction.
In the fireside chat, drawing on discussion of the ESO case, we will:
- Explore what a well-managed crisis looks like in practice
- Analyze how leadership decisions are made under pressure and uncertainty
- Discuss communicating with stakeholders when trust is at stake
- Compare the case with patterns seen across global crises: what leaders tend to get right – and wrong
- Leave space for open dialogue with participants: questions, reflections, and shared experiences
