Overview

This module is based on Odyssey 3.14, HEC Paris’s groundbreaking approach to business model innovation. Built on the 3 pillars of the business model, it outlines 14 directions to explore for inventing or reinventing a business model. Participants learn to challenge conventional rules, explore bold possibilities with a “blank page” mindset, and turn ideas into transformative strategies. Drawing lessons from Swatch, Airbnb, Uber, and established leaders like Signify, Odyssey 3.14 equips executives with the tools to drive real impact, navigate innovation challenges in established firms, and create lasting competitive advantage.

After this course you will be able to:

  • Understand what a business model is and how it can drive business strategy
  • Apply the three pillars framework and compare it with other business model approaches
  • Evaluate when and why companies need to reinvent their business models systematically
  • Explore a variety of innovative and emerging business models
  • Build new business models by leveraging the 14 strategic directions
