The second edition of the International Board Leadership and Governance Programme launched with an inspiring start at Copenhagen Business School (CBS).
Co-organised by BMI Executive Institute and CBS Executive Fonden, and proudly partnered with EY and Ellex Legal, the programme brings together board members and senior executives from across Europe to strengthen governance excellence and leadership impact.
Hosted at CBS, the first module offered two intensive days of learning and exchange, exploring Purpose and Accountability in Board Work and Structures and Roles. Participants examined how boards navigate stewardship, strategy, succession, and supervision while adapting governance models to diverse ownership structures. Discussions also focused on ethical leadership, stakeholder alignment, and the cultural and regulatory nuances that define effective boards worldwide.
The sessions were led by distinguished faculty:
- Dr. Lars Ohnemus, Director of the Center for Corporate Governance at Copenhagen Business School and Co-founder of Northern Horizon Capital AS
- Prof. Trond Randøy, Professor of Corporate Governance at Copenhagen Business School and the School of Business and Law, University of Agder
- Prof. Georg Guttmann, Assistant Professor at the University of St. Gallen and Director of Board Programmes (ES-HSG)
- Dr. Katalin Pallai, Governance and Leadership Development Expert, trainer for the EU, UN, and the World Bank
Guest experts Christina H. Højfeldt (CEO, The Ownership Company) and Jesper Berg (Senior Advisor at Copenhagen Business School, former Head of the Danish FSA) provided valuable real-world perspectives on board governance, financial oversight, and ownership transitions.
Participants actively contributed through open discussions, sharing experience and insights that enriched each session and built a strong foundation for the learning journey ahead.
The programme will continue in Vilnius, where the next module will focus on Finance for Board Members, Corporate Leadership, ESG and Sustainability, and Legal Aspects of Board Work. Sessions will feature contributions from Prof. Gloria Batllori, Prof. Jette Steen Knudsen, Aušra Vankevičiūtė, Šarūnas Dyburis, Rolandas Valiūnas, and Robertas Čiočys.
Together with its partners CBS Executive Fonden, EY, and Ellex Legal, BMI Executive Institute is proud to advance a growing international community committed to strengthening governance and leadership excellence across Europe.
