The Venture Capital Academy 2025 has officially concluded in Brussels, marking the completion of an intensive and insight-driven learning journey for investors, entrepreneurs, and finance professionals.
Over three sessions, participants explored the venture capital ecosystem in depth – from valuation and funding strategies to legal frameworks, deal structuring, and investor perspectives. The programme was designed and delivered by BMI Executive Institute and the Louvain School of Management (Université catholique de Louvain), in partnership with BeAngels, BAN Flanders – Business Angels Network Flanders, and Strelia.
The final module, Caveats with VC Deals, provided a practical conclusion to the Academy. It featured open, experience-based discussions led by respected professionals from the venture capital and private equity sectors, including Ralf De Clercq (Partner & Co-Founder, Integra Partners), Jan Alexander (Secretary General, Private Capital Belgium), Hans Kluwer (Partner, McCapital Partners), and Dirk Paelinck (CEO, Interoffices and Workero; Chairman, European PropTech Association – PropTech House). Their insights on successful fundraising, deal execution, and lessons learned from failure offered a grounded and authentic view of the VC landscape.
Throughout the Academy, participants learned from leading faculty and practitioners:
- Prof. Rudy Aernoudt, Co-founder of EBAN – European Business Angel Network, Professor of Corporate Finance at UGent, former Chief Economist at the European Commission, and curator of the programme
- Prof. Gloria Batllori, Professor of Finance at ESADE Business School, expert in valuation and startup finance
- Gisèle Rosselle, Head of M&A and Private Equity Practice at Strelia, leader in private equity and M&A law
- Claire Munck, CEO of BeAngels, specialist in early-stage equity and business angel networks
- Xavier Marchant, Coordinator at BAN Flanders – Business Angels Network Flanders, business executive and consultant
BMI Executive Institute extends its sincere congratulations to all graduates of the Venture Capital Academy 2025. Their active engagement, collaboration, and openness to learning made this year’s edition an outstanding success.
Special thanks go to our partners BeAngels, BAN Flanders, and Strelia for their continued collaboration and contribution to advancing high-quality executive education in venture capital and entrepreneurship.
