BMI Executive Institute congratulates the 2026 graduates of the International Board Leadership and Governance Programme, co-organised by BMI Executive Institute and CBS Executive Fonden in partnership with EY and Ellex Legal.
After an inspiring opening module in Copenhagen, the 3rd edition of the programme concluded in Vilnius, marking the successful completion of this year’s learning journey.
Across both modules, participants engaged in high-level discussions, real governance cases, and peer learning guided by internationally recognised scholars, experienced faculty, and seasoned board professionals. The programme was designed to strengthen board leadership, deepen governance expertise, and provide practical tools for addressing the complex challenges of today’s boardroom.
To ensure a high-quality learning experience, the programme brought together faculty and guest experts with deep academic and practical governance expertise. This year’s contributors included Lars Ohnemus, PhD, Copenhagen Business School; Prof. Trond Randøy, Copenhagen Business School; Prof. Gloria Batllori, Esade Business School; Prof. Rudy Aernoudt, EBAN – European Business Angel Network and Ghent University; Prof. Jette Steen Knudsen, Tufts University and Copenhagen Business School; Prof. Piers Cumberlege, HEC Paris; Prof. Georg Guttmann, IMD Business School; Christina Højfeldt, The Ownership Company; Thorbjørn Lundholm Dahl, Danske Bank; Leonas Lingis, EY; Rolandas Valiūnas and Robertas Čiočys, Ellex Legal; Jurate Stanisauskiene, Lietuvos paštas, ORO NAVIGACIJA and Legal Balance; and Nijolė Kelpsaitė, Friisberg & Partners International.
A special highlight of the Vilnius module was the evening discussion on the governance of state-owned companies, comparing Lithuanian and Scandinavian practice. The discussion featured Vaida Česnulevičiūtė Markevičienė, Deputy Chair of the Board at the Bank of Lithuania, and Mantas Dubauskas, Board Member at LITEXPO and Partner at Repoint PR.
The International Board Leadership and Governance Programme is designed for executives, board members, shareholders and leaders seeking to strengthen their understanding of board work, governance models, boardroom dynamics, decision-making, ownership structures, ESG, sustainability, legal responsibilities and effective corporate leadership.
Participants leave the programme with a broader governance perspective, practical tools for board-level decision-making, and direct exposure to the experience of international faculty, business practitioners and governance experts.
Warm congratulations to all 2026 graduates. Their engagement, curiosity and thoughtful questions shaped a strong learning journey and contributed to the quality of the cohort experience.
BMI Executive Institute also thanks the team behind the programme, especially Karilė Klug and Gabriela Forgeron, for bringing together a high-quality learning experience and supporting participants throughout the journey.
The Board Leadership and Governance Programme will return already this autumn, and demand is high. Interested leaders are encouraged to secure their place in the next cohort.
